Many educational support services provide audio tape versions of text books and other materials for their auditory learners. The difficulty in the past has been recording large volumes in a timely way. Now with Dolphin Producer there is a very simple software solution. Text can be scanned or loaded electronically, and then converted rapidly into a Realspeak synthetic speech file stored as DAISY MP3 and delivered by email, podcast or CD to the student. The student plays the audio file on their CD player, DAISY player, MP3 player – or even their mobile phone! So they have access to printed materials just as quickly as their print reading peers, and with the same portability.
